Who is the largest block of voters in the United States? White women. Yes, the patriarchy continues to exist, but for a while, white women have been the deciding factor in how elections turn. During 2016, the polls said one thing and reality said another. Therefore, more important than continuing to listen to people harass Black people over numbers that do not exist, the largest voting block needs to decide if lying makes it a palatable colleague with reality.
Without taking sides, the most loyal voting block to the Democrat National Convention, as demonstrated by consistent behavior for decades, is Black women. In 2020, politicians made it illegal to provide water to people in voting lines because Black women made news by mobilizing to provide water to voters in Georgia that were penalized by a reduction in voting locations. Throughout most of Black history, most of the activism was spearheaded by Black women, who were supporting church events, leading rallies, and teaching Black children in underfunded schools.
While this is not a commentary on the superiority of any woman, it is a commentary on hypocrisy. For centuries, since before the United States existed, Black people have been coerced into obedience, whether by violence, law, or social manipulation. During all of that time, white people were consistently relieved of the responsibility of maintaining any order. There was always an excuse of some sort as to why they could do what they please without accountability. Meanwhile, any time something disrupts the nation, Black people were being browbeaten with a constant call to obedience to the dominant narrative.
In the last three months, I have heard that I am solely responsible for the changing of a racist nation that hates me for something I cannot change. At one point, a white driver decided that he was going to refuse to let me leave his vehicle before I promised to vote Democrat. In a calm and even tone, I told him that 5% of the population would not be responsible for the nation. Afterwards, I informed him that I would be leaving. Maybe for once, the least responsible voting blocks should have to do something other than direct orders at Black people.
