Well, folks within the dominant narrative finally decided to protest…again. It is interesting that April 5th was supposed to be some grand announcement to shake the rafters, but quite frankly, people have been protesting since the inauguration. It seemed like every week, some protest was being announced that was supposed to make different changes, but nothing different has really happened. Based on those protests, what has changed about how people have lived their lives? Nothing, and that is why the current administration does not care whether people die ranting in the streets. In recent history, all it takes is a little distraction, and the same “passionate” people will go back to their hidey holes and ignore injustices as long as they stay safe.

I was walking through a nearby neighborhood one afternoon, and I saw these signs. To the average onlooker, this is a revolutionary statement made by a Democrat voter that should let everyone know that such a person is safe. The signage is in the front, making it obvious that the residents supported the Democrat candidate, and the residents would likely proudly opine that they had Black friends, and those Black friends were “super close.” This is the kind of “activism” that “liberals” have been getting away with for decades, and it is finally starting to rub everyone the wrong way. This is not revolutionary; this is only the appearance of being revolutionary, and I will break it down in several parts.
First and foremost, Austin has been given the option of voting for a Latina woman for mayor twice on the Democrat ticket, and both times, the residents chose to elect the older white man. This is not just any older white man, but the man responsible for setting Austin on track for the displacement of most of the history communities of color, the first being the Black community. He left under suspicious circumstances in 2020 to pretend to be a dean with the University of Houston’s Hobby School of Affairs, only to run for mayor again in 2022. It does not help that the neighborhoods being attacked at this point are predominantly Latinx communities, who are being priced out of the communities that they were segregated to during the 1928 Master Plan. This mayoral candidate protected predominantly white neighborhoods while offering nonwhite neighborhoods for destruction–that is, until people decided that those neighborhoods were “cool” or made them rich.
Secondly, two out of three people being promoted in these signs are older white men. This further illustrates that Biden was placed next to Obama as the overseer, confirmed by his refusal to concede power when it was clear that he had nothing left to offer. Tim Walz may be many things, but he knew the assignment, and behaved as well as anyone would knowing that their leader was not expected to lead. This bad habit of saying, “Add an older white man to a candidate of color to add credibility” demonstrates that nobody really thinks anyone nonwhite is capable of independent leadership. Saying “But these are Democrats!” does not make things any different, especially considering that Democrats displace and segregate as well.
Furthermore, this neighborhood maintained a racial covenant, which prevented Black people from moving there during its development. There might be a couple here and there now, but for the most part, Black people were seen as a smudge that this “beautiful” neighborhood wanted to avoid. Nothing about this neighborhood projects openness to Black people, especially considering the property valuation of housing in this community as opposed to any predominantly Black neighborhood. This section is worth a little over $1.4 million dollars, while Black people are more likely to experienced being unhoused, let alone having any property worth anything close to $1 million.
Basically, the whole purpose of elevating Kamala Harris in this way is to say, “This nigger figured it out. Why can’t you?” There has been no true respect of Black people within the City of Austin, and encouraging leadership of color at a distance is essentially communicating that someone else should be under nonwhite leadership, not them. The only purpose of placing signs like this is to communicate that Black people are only acceptable if they bow to the racial hierarchy of control. None of the people in this household actually concede to nonwhite leadership, but it looks good, so they put it everywhere they can. This is not allyship.
None of the dominant narrative did its job in avoiding the rise of a fascist oligarchy, and too many people are still gaslighting everyone by pretending no one told them about the potential consequences, and that “they never did anything.” The government and police forces are ignoring the protests because so many people are simply protesting the loss of their special place among Black people. Such behavior constitutes a temper tantrum over not getting what they want, not a genuine effort in making things better for everyone. That is the only “democracy” that anyone wants to preserve, which is why most of us are disengaging from the fake activism.
Until everyone within the dominant narrative takes responsibility for its behavior–through cash offerings, professional opportunities, or anything else that is restorative, not attention-seeking–no one is interested in “coming together.” That emotionally immature response is further proof that the dominant narrative is trying to gaslight people about its role in causing pain to others. As long as the implicit command is to remain a racial hierarchy, the United States will never be anything other than an empire based on genocide and exploitation.
