Easy Answers Make People Threats

Despite all of the evidence to the contrary, so many people wanted to deny the problems of the imperial United States. When elections were swayed based on the electoral college instead of numbers, people laughed when there was a push to abolish the electoral college. After the protests against police brutality began again in earnest in 2015, and there was a push to defund the police in 2020, most bigots–I said what I said–elected to double down on “police protection.” Instead of raising wages to coincide with the cost of living, too many morons are still telling everyone to work harder despite the mess that is the job market. At this point in time, it is prevalent to start ignoring people who cannot accept that their fantasies are fake.

Toxic positivity has less to do with actually developing a positive atmosphere, and more to do with controlling the narrative. For centuries, people gaslit marginalized populations into believing that we were the problem, rather than people adamantly refusing to leave us alone to thrive. Now that all of those lies have been exposed, those who were smirking in our faces have nothing left to say–and indeed, no one left to say it to because we ignore them now. If one has a light to shine in the world, the light shines through the darkness, not by pretending that “the darkness is only in one’s mind.” It takes great strength to accept terrible situations for what they are, and work to problem-solve, and only weak people come up with easy answers that largely involve running away from the mess they made.

Additionally, by pretending that there are no problems, people seeking easy answers are generally helping bullies brainwash the masses. For example, suburbs were never about a lack of affordable housing, but that was the narrative that caused urban sprawl, largely because people were too lazy to consider the circumstances. Even though the temperatures are rising, ecosystems are failing, and the urban heat index makes cities dangerous for pedestrians, naive individuals are still talking about how they prefer a “lifestyle,” instead of understanding that all life on the planet has to evolve. Refusal to accept one’s part in the bullying makes all of those people who saw urban sprawl as a “lifestyle” complicit with the racist origins that created suburbs.

In truth, demanding that everyone be happy regardless of the circumstances is ultimately about control, not reality. No, everyone is not an irresponsible maggot who refuses to receive a little pain in anticipation of a greater outcome. Those who had access to control and resources squandered their opportunities to make life better for everyone, including themselves, and now we all have to lose because idiots refused to face facts. Mental health is becoming more of an issue because those in denial are beginning to be aggressive about maintaining their lies, which is why violence is on the rise.

Curiously, the same bigots who pushed for “police protection” are extremely quiet now that there has been talk of martial law against civilians. I myself heard people dealing with the regretful consequences of believing that “hard work” is an answer to a problem that began with greed. The only people still believing that elections and the “democratic process” are still real are online folks, because most people actually believed Trump when he said that he would be the last vote people would cast. It is no longer cute to deal with people who have a hard time accepting reality. If someone is still offering easy answers in the face of hard truths, it is time for distance.
