I used to know a number of people who loved to say nasty things to me, and then back away when I reacted the way people do when folks say nasty things. For the longest time, I thought that I needed to master my behavior and I spent an abundance of time, energy, and resources trying adjust myself so that people would say fewer nasty things. That, more than anything, is the trap of racism, which makes the abuse the responsibility of the target, instead of the abuser: change behavior, placate the abuser, and then maybe there will be peace. However, once I mastered my observation skills, I noticed that people who were happy to extract my time, energy, and resources would never change their behavior, no matter what I did. Therefore, my conclusion about the current state of the empire is that it is the result of entitled, small men, who were taught that the world owes them something, and refuse to mature.
Everyone in the United States knew that migrants were responsible for the lower costs of groceries, and this was long before that disgusting publicity stunt of shipping migrants to “liberal states” with large unhoused populations. Those who are pretending to be surprised by the agricultural shutdowns are lying to themselves, which is why so many people have little to no sympathy for them. Everyone in the United States knew that migrants were responsible for the majority of service labor, especially since there was an entire movie about that process made almost a decade before now. Unfortunately, “elites” are lazy and the beneficiaries of the dominant narrative are entitled, so the tried-and-true method of “blame non-white people for problems” worked like a charm to elect a subpar despot, even with all the information that people had. Now, the beneficiaries are losing their benefits left and right, and the “elites” are scrambling to improve their images.
Black people are only 15% of the population, and most people are actually aware of this, and the harder they cling to fake statistics–built on law enforcement stalking and suburban indoctrination–the more one can tell that the clingers are aware of truth. Most Black people have very uninteresting existences, but garner the majority of attention from onlookers because people are actually looking for a way to control us. People are not “mad” about the fake “welfare mothers” invented in the 1980s to help insecure bigots elect a mediocre actor; they are mad at the idea that there are Black people not being controlled. Imagine these endings to some of the sentences often heard. “I hate unwed mothers with five children who I cannot force to come work in my house for lemonade.” “Yeah, maybe if Black people would stop dealing drugs and getting caught, then I would no longer be forced to wait for prison contract labor to beat them.” Now, people are shocked that Black people are no longer taking the bait and trying to “come together,” especially when that just means, “I need another way to exert dominance over you.”
No one is genuinely interested in the people who keep trying to talk about midterms and wealth building not because those are imperial tools, but because the delusions that support them are no longer functional. Greedy, entitled people destroyed the middle class and made all work worthless, so people no longer see the point and have become more paralyzed than before. Midterms are all about supporting the delusion that the imperial United States is, in fact, a democracy, when anyone with a lick of common sense knew that it was always a plantation with a marketing department. None of the systems within the empire function without exploitation and delusion, and only small-minded people demand those two states of being. In fact, more people have strengthened their observation skills, and have realized that everything about the United States is a lose-lose situation, and many are working to leave.
The protests occurring are a result of beneficiaries who were told a lie, and are finally being forced to confront it, while having no support from the people they mocked when they thought they were higher in the hierarchy. Attacks are coming because idiots who convinced people to elect them think that they will attract federal funding and regain popularity in the eyes of the beneficiaries. Most of the “elites” are scrambling because people are finally seeing how pointless they are, and how few problems they ever solved, and that includes both wealthy folks and celebrities, educated or not. Everyone else is looking at the situation and saying, “Huh. None of this was necessary, but because certain people seem to need attention, it appears that other people will be sentenced to death.” Cowards destroy the earth to get attention, and it seems that small men are having their day to prove how small they are.
* Note: “Small men” does not mean that a bunch of other gendered folks are rising to the occasion, and people are looking at those hiding behind “politeness,” “tradition,” and “coming together” as well. The demand that people “come together under a pre-decided plan is just another form of coercion, and no one is falling for it this time.
