Language Controls the Narrative

As the migration obsession has reached critical mass, there will likely be an increase of hostility to foreign languages spoken in public. It never ceases to amaze me that there are people who froth at the mouth at linguistic diversity, screaming, “Speak English!” to targets who were ignoring the abuser in the first place. However, there is a true panic in the eyes of comfortable people as their needs for comfort and compliance have started to be ignored and people have started speaking our truths without apology. Those who need the lies to be repeated are beginning to lose their reputations, and no one is coming around to back them up anymore because the liars demanded the right to tell the history of others. No one should be able to tell the story of someone else, but the dominant narrative cannot leave space for other voices lest its evil be revealed.

One thing that most comfortable people will never admit is that they believe the images they were sold on television back in the day, which is one of the reasons that such media is being preserved and repeated. Propaganda was always understood as something related to army recruitment and wartime engagement, but almost no one understood that all those sitcoms and movies were propaganda as well. In those media, a suburb was a “safe” neighborhood, not a resource-heavy extravagance that highlighted segregation. Cars never polluted the air because they were the most “reliable” way to get around, and “responsible” people owned them so that they could drive their families. Homeownership was part of being a family, and those who lacked single-family homes were “reckless” and “ignorant,” not to mention criminal. All of these images were preserved as the “good ol’ days,” and people have launched literal presidential campaigns on, essentially, trying to get back into a televised image on how life used to be.

Reputations were everything within those propaganda pieces, which is why reputations are so important as the empire collapses. Neighborhood associations were organizations full of nasty people without social boundaries who felt entitled to harass and emotionally abuse others in the name of keeping a “safe community.” Originally, I was going to use the word “gangstalk,” but because of how protected reputations are, that word is considered a mental disorder, something that does not exist except in the minds of the targets, which is another. Life imitated art as marginalized populations were monitored and excluded from a number of areas of society, like suburbs, schools and educational programs, banking, etc. Basically, because reputations were and are so important, the idea was abhorrent that people were deliberately alienating large parts of the population, so people just said that those people were crazy. This is one of the reasons why marginalized populations still cannot exist without staring and potential harassment.

Language and images are the two most important tools for maintaining the dominant narrative and historically, both were controlled by the “elites.” Nothing could be said without approval, and even if it was said, people would be ridiculed and coerced if they believed anything outside the propaganda. Ironically, wealthy people created social media, and were more than happy to spread toxic and blatantly false information to anyone who would listen. However, what also happened was that people were able to share direct confrontations with that false information, such as violence in war-torn countries and documentation about oppressive policies. People were even able to find old videos that “elites” figured would never surface, and they could talk about what those images meant all over the world in whatever language they wanted, no longer being limited to dominant narrative languages.

Now the “elites” are scrambling around the world, struggling to put their reputations back in order now that everyone has seen the control masquerading as order. Yes, Trump is showing narcissistic collapse in real time, but it is much more than that: people are actually witnessing how the narcissistic system is hurting not just people but the entire planet. Words are finally describing the pain that was caused, and nobody is enabling either the sycophants or the beneficiaries of a system that creates pain. Language controlled the narrative when only a few people could control the language, but with everyone having access to their voices and being able to articulate their pain, abusers can no longer hide.
