Within the empire, there is a lot of violence occurring, some of it even within Austin, Texas, which is surprising because this city is largely irrelevant due to its delusions of liberalism while worshipping technoligarchs. Rich people are repeatedly finding themselves on the wrong end of the gun barrels, and they are finally considering that something might be wrong with the country. Slow-witted individuals are talking about a war going on with mythological “leftists,” who are attacking people that no one in their right mind would engage with, and hoping that everyone falls for it. In truth, the real reason that people are escalating the violence is because most individuals are starting to abandon those who are deliberately problematic as hopeless cases. What is the worst thing that could happen for those seeking attention? For everyone to stop paying attention, recognize the tantrums, and walk away for good.
At the risk of repeating myself, we as a nation are tapped out of “resilience” with people who either want to cause harm, or people who want to watch harm being caused while doing nothing to stop it. The uprisings in 2020 yielded flowery words, chump change, and a whole lot of nothing. All the “firsts” created within the Biden administration did nothing to actually evolve the country, especially since he himself told his wealthy donors, “Nothing would change.” Money was spent, time was given, and Black women–who spent more of our time, energy, and resources than anyone else–are being attacked because one of us dared run for president. Every day is an example of retaliation, and nobody is doing nearly enough to stop anything from happening to us, or to help us leave so that we can stop being part of this nightmare.
Consequently, Black people have watched all these people get comfortable pretending to be on our sides. We watched for decades as mostly white women were seen as nonconfrontational enough to be “trailblazers,” and we were told that even when we mutilated our bodies for white comfort, we would never be enough. After a couple of months of attention from protesting, it seems that all the beneficiaries and sycophants are tired, and they want to run back to their comfort holes and hope everything works out in favor of them. Meanwhile, asshats are making proclamations of war and random white men are gunning people down in hopes that they start the race war they so desperately want. It seems that the limitations of those “on our side” are only extended to protesting and voting, refusing to acknowledge that such behavior is largely obsolete at this point in time.
Therefore, many Black people are doing what we should have done years ago: we are giving up on the dominant narrative. We have seen tantrums when the beneficiaries cannot have their way, and there is no working with such emotionally immature tyrants. If they wanted equality and liberation in this country, it would have happened years ago, but when people demonstrate that they will be the consistent barrier to progress, it is time to accept that progress is a myth. No one has any more resources to manage the task of emotionally regulating grown adults who refuse to live in a socioecosystem that they cannot constantly extract from and/or control. We all have better things to do with our time, and the crocodile tears can go water Alligator Auschwitz in Florida for all we care. Change is possible, but only if people are willing to see problems, and all we are seeing is that people want to return to the times when they knew nothing about the problems, rather than solving them.
