When Trump won for the second time, a number of white activists were deployed because the Black people informed people in no uncertain terms that we had done our parts, and it was time for someone else to step up to the plate. Protests were planned and posts were shared, but nothing was truly done and people continued to be surprised that none of us rejoined the slop bucket that is political engagement. For my part, I had spent several years tussling with the liberal machine, and it was just as toxic as the conservative side, but with better press due to money. Honestly, to me and most of the other Black people observing this imperial mess, the backlash and violence that has arisen is a dominant narrative that is losing relevance, yet still clawing our eyes for attention.
After November 5th, there was a tour of influencers who were going to conservative campuses to debate TurningPoint USA’s propaganda tour, and they went by the name, Unf*ck America Tour. Whenever they went to campuses, TurningPoint would come up with allegations to get the counter tour kicked off campus with nothing to offer but potential actions. Remember, the whole point of TurningPoint was supposedly “honest debate” to bring “civility” into political discussions, but they could not stop themselves from running off opposition. This was white-on-white debate, so there would not be any racism and it could have been an honest discussion, but people with nothing to say fear honesty, a point repeatedly proven in history. To me, this validates my understanding of those most protective of the dominant narrative: they cannot compete, and so they cheat. Note: in trying to research the articles for this piece, I noticed that the internet had been scrubbed of any mentions of the incidents to protect the hypocrisy of those actions.
Fastfoward to a couple of days ago, and conservatives are going to historically Black campuses to “spark debate,” but set up camera equipment, and film biased footage the entire time. They knew they were coming to campus not to debate, but to pull stunts, and because the dominant narrative hates Black people, they had a willing audience. If the conservatives had gone to a liberal predominantly white campus, it would have been a more honest discussion, and the conservatives would not have been able to fulfill their fake narrative. However, if nothing else, nobody can seem to support the dominant narrative without willfully attacking Black people, and these two miscreants were no exception. See, when someone wants to fight someone who is ignoring them, they have to do more to start the fight, and Black people have endured instigation during our entire time in the West, so we expect it. No one cared about those clowns, they know it, so they had to spread lies and amp up other mentally unhealthy white people looking for a fight.
Next on the path to irrelevance, Trump managed to sound obnoxious at two different events last week, which is no surprise to anyone who lives in reality. At a memorial service, he turned the mourning into a rally because he had nothing else to offer. Sympathy and compassion are foreign to him, so expecting violent crime to sway him is an exercise in the impossible. Nobody was moved–except for his cult followers–and everyone yawned at his efforts to rile up a country that is growing increasingly impatient with his antics. Congress proved their irrelevance by signing the worship of oppression into law, and people are finally starting to ignore those who keep bleating about “midterms.”
The second event involved Trump sounding crazy while giving a speech at the United Nations, and nobody was surprised that he threw a tantrum when everyone was less than impressed. Inside the empire, everyone can be slapped into submission and the media bows in control to his “dominance.” Outside the empire, none of the leaders who actually needed qualifications to get their jobs were impressed with the idiot “elected” by an empire so deluded that it denies its own verifiable history. Whenever a coward is put in front of people in full possession of their faculties, all the smokescreens are removed, and he again becomes a whining imbecile desperate for attention. South Korea is already slowing its investments in the empire, and who knows if there will be any more money coming into this country?
The United States is a living, breathing example of what happens when someone thinks their very existence should be enough to guarantee control. All around the world, people have been taught more honest accounts of all the events the empire “won,” and more people are bored with imperial tactics. Fake military parades, flooding the streets with police to harass non-white people, and giving platforms to bigots reveal how desperate the dominant narrative is to regain its coexisting myths of innocence and strength. Conservatives are desperate to preserve the strength narrative, which is what installed this administration in the first place. Sadly, liberals are still obsessed with the myth of innocence, and they cannot enter discussions about nonwhite people without first needing to make targets white to inspire sympathy. This will be discussed in more detail as this blog continues, because most of my lived experience has been in liberal environments, not conservatives.
Breaking up with the delusion of one’s relevance in the lives of others is always difficult, but these antics are getting ridiculous. Demanding the worship of people who died is not helpful when people are dying every day in imperial concentration camps, or under the violence of other imperial behavior. If the dominant narrative wants to slide into soft relevance–like the Dutch, who used to have the colonizing Dutch East India company–then it needs to stop screaming for relevance. History exists, people are finding it, the truth is getting out by millions of voices, and there is nothing that the empire can do about it.
