Asking for Labor Without Offering It

Based on some of my other pieces, some might think this is about siphoning energy from marginalized groups without pouring anything back in. That is an important issue, and I will consistently bring that topic back into the conversation because people have become comfortable with that situation. However, at this time, I would like to discuss how people with control and resources continue telling everyone to get to work while they refuse to offer jobs. Without a sustained number of living-wage jobs and the opportunity for an affordable existence, there is no point to maintaining the illusion of an economy.

Conservatives liked to rag on people by telling everyone to get jobs instead of government benefits, even though said benefits were largely a trait of people who voted within the conservative mindset. That aside, one thing that people have been noticing is that the number of jobs available has not only gone down in quantity, but in quality. Seemingly, the only way to get a job is to get a job programming computers to make sure that nobody gets a job. Why is everyone with control and resources telling everyone to work when nobody wants to offer jobs, or pay what people need to afford to live and keep coming to work? Pouring in resumes and building brands means nothing if nobody is willing to compensate us and help us sustain lives.

Voting is another system that has become a black hole of resources, with people endlessly asking for campaign money without offering enough representation. Without fail, everyone’s emails were filled with pleas for money to do whatever the party wanted to do, regardless of party. Finally, in December 2024, I cut those emails off because if I had no job and little money, how was I supposed to fund millionaires competing with other millionaires? The system is working exactly as designed by making everyone at the bottom fight each other, while the comfortable few whine about being uncomfortable for the first time in their lives, and the wealthy laughing at all of us. I am amused at people saying that all we need to do is trust a system that demands money while offering us nothing for our hard-earned dollars.

I could go on, but reality dictates that people have nothing left to give, and are running out of hope when wealthy people with endless resources keep attacking us. The only way to maintain an empire is to allow people to actually acquire a modicum of resources that would make living within the borders worthwhile. Nobody has any reason to feel comforted within the empire, but all these systems continue to demand that we produce blood from a stone. Who knows what the future will bring, other than violence against the vulnerable?
