Shifting Power Dynamics

For a while, I have been thinking about why it annoys me that there are so many nonprofits, and why there are so many billionaires who are “looking to divest themselves of their fortunes.” Unnecessary hoarding is an obvious answer, and one that I have dissected on various levels numerous times. The nonprofit industrial complex has many problems, especially when one considers that an institution such as Yale is still classified as a nonprofit, but generally, people start them to build community when other structures have failed. In the end, it occurred to me that most nonprofits spend their time chasing money, even as the billionaires claim to be “searching” for ways to divest.

Too many people have ignored how billionaires–and other elites, really–sit on their thrones and complain about their reputations. We have all heard claims that they want to give away their money–Mackenzie Scott, anyone?–but are frustrated by the process. Meanwhile, they build up nonprofits and demand that everyone submit mountains of paperwork to prove ourselves worthy of the resources they stole in the first place. Looking at the situation the way the younger folks look at elders, I have come to the conclusion that if people truly want to shift a power dynamic in a way that makes a different, the billionaires and the elites are going to need to stop separating themselves and demanding to be chased.

Even though these terrible people have bought the press and infiltrated the education system, everyone does not know the same people. There are so many rich people that I could care less about which ones do what, and people need to stop giving flowers to these cretins–they could care less whether they have good images because they have our stuff. In fact, the only thing I care about is whether these short-sighted morons know how to repair the damage they have enacted by refusing to quell their greed. Yet and still, these fools sit there running out of time to give away their money–Yes, Warren Buffett, we see you–because instead of actively seeking ways to give, they created more barriers. No one told them to take that much in the first place, but now suddenly, they are completely clueless about how to relinquish their ill-gotten goods.

Additionally, all these clowns live in secluded circumstances, both personal and professional, and they are really difficult to reach. Some are in clubs, some are in glass egos with security guards, and all of them have an army of people in front of them. There is no way that people can find ways to meet them and plead cases based on having established relationships. Working class and poor people can find a church, meet at fast food restaurants, and hang out in public places. People with control and resources are expensive just to access, and expecting nonprofits that help single parents to play 18 holes is stupid. Nobody has time for any of that wasteful aristocratic behavior, and nobody should be “making” that time, either.

Moreover, these idiots know what they have, and they know that their resources would change the lives of people around them. They know that everyone sees what they have, and imagine lives with the tiniest fraction of those goods. None of the people asking for help are asking for anything outside the reach of these people, and that could be proven with a bank account. The difference is that when people have bought all the attention and praise from the media, they cannot simply let things go and move on with their lives. They need constant validation, which is proof that they were always weak, and we overlooked that trait because of the money.

For all those morons, I have one piece of advise: stop looking to benefit from pain that has already been caused. None of them need the tax benefit, so they should give without restraint, and if serious, walk down a street randomly and hand out thousands of dollars–for no reason and without paperwork. They also need to stop telling everyone about the “good things” they do, because they already did too many awful things for which they need to repent. If they really want the world to be a more equal place, they need to start getting rid of their resources and looking for ways to share power, not find new ways to, literally and figuratively, jizz themselves to space or buy superyachts.
