They Already Know

One major problem with trying to reason with toxic people is the false amnesia they have over the possibility that they might have done something wrong. They make it about tone, timing, or any other excuse to avoid any hint of accountability. For centuries, people have been approaching “elites” with the truth of what their behavior does to the rest of us. The reality is that they already know, refuse to care, and are hoping that everything will continue without incident because that works to their advantage.

The biggest false amnesia comes from the oil and gas industry, who was responsible for continuing to promote the oil & gas industry while knowing that carbon emissions were bad for the environment. So many exposés have been made that the majority is likely numb from the understanding that causing harm was not a dealbreaker. Industry already knew that its pollution would be a problem, but because money was more important than the life of the planet, it continues to pretend to be confused.

Artificial intelligence requires purified water, excessive server space, and more land than anyone knows what to do with, while offering less than the operating costs. To connect the dots, this is why Bill Gates was buying farmland for all those years. Techies already know that the environmental situation is becoming dire, and their response has been to run straight into the sun with the constant the demands for more and faster “improvements” that only seem to benefit them. One can either make a world for humans or a world for excessive technology, but not both.

This leads me to the idiotic “elites” who keep hoarding everything with the belief that it will still be worth something after they destroy everything. In Gulliver’s Travels, the protagonist finds diamonds which a being explains are worthless, and suddenly the protagonist recognizes that the valuation of worth is external. Rich folks already know that they need to get over themselves and start sharing, but they lack any sense of urgency since they have been pampered for the majority of their lives.

Every single one of the kinds of people above are aware that they could end a lot of suffering on the planet, but they choose not to do that. Instead, they would rather have everyone beg them to do better, knowing that they cannot exist without worship and control. Therefore, the responsibility of all imperial constituents is to stop trying to “fix” issues for which we lack the resources. Those who could proffer change have rejected our offer, so we should patch our own lives together the best we can.
