Tech Issues

Last week, my computer charger stopped working. The computer was fine, but the charger stopped charging. This item was less than three years old. So, here I am back writing on my phone instead of my laptop.

People often discuss the digital divide as a lack of internet access, but few talk about tech degradation. Many older people have older computers in their homes that could function perfectly fine if companies stopped installing “updates” that wear out processors. Sadly, people spend hundreds of dollars “upgrading” because software companies cannot offer online software that allows people to avoid subscriptions.

Buying new technology is not inexpensive, and holding people hostage to programming is stupid. These days, most people actually are tech savvy, but the tech industry wants people paying for garbage. No longer is it the fault of users that they cannot use their own equipment.
